Stockport CoderDojo 19/7/15

I am thrilled to be able to say that I attended my first #CoderDojo and I loved it! Today’s main focus was what you can do was a #RaspberryPi. Therefore, there were activities like Minecraft with Pi and Scratch with Pi. However, I wanted to try out something different so I fetched a Raspberry Pi kit and set out to make some LED lights blink. I thoroughly enjoyed plugging the wires into their designated pins, readjusting the resistors and the LEDs and seeing how to experiment with engineering using the Pi. It was also great fun modifying the code that you already had to change things like the timings for the lights to switch on/off! Plus, today I gathered that the model B/B+ has a stronger OS and it runs quicker/more efficiently. Although, for heavier engineering/experimenting you can use model A (ex: for robots..). All in all, it was such an enjoyable experience with STEAM and Raspberry Pi enthusiasts here in the UK😊🇬🇧👍🏼 @StockportDojo @laura_tco #StockportCoderDojo #RaspberryPi #MinecraftPi #Scratch #RasPi #Python #Idle #PythonShell #TerminalCommands #MakeyMakey #TheSoundsOfEngineering #Tinkering #HandsOn #RaspberryPiEnthusiasts #Code #GirlsCoding #UnitedKingdom #STEAM #KidsCoding #NonProfit #Twitter
